10 days. That’s what it takes. 10 Days and 400 miles to share a journey of reflection. We set out together as unified Nevada veterans, to pay homage to the sacrifices made by our brothers and sisters who fell in places like Ramadi, Fallujah, Helmund Province, Korengal Valley, Nasiriyah, and countless other locations where America’s mission required them.
Without fail, each leg of this journey will be completed by those who understand that Memorial Day is one of reflection. But we feel that to reflect quietly is not enough. So we carry the weight of our friends and family in the form of their ID tags. A weight we share to experience the loss that each soldier, sailor, airman, marine, or coastguardsman’s family has felt. But we also remember those whose service preceded ours. Thanks to them, the strength of our country and our community has provided us the chance to live in freedom and prosperity.
Join us as we look to our departed warriors with grief and gratitude. But join us also as one community devoted to each other to continue our nation’s legacy of liberty and opportunity.
